Engaging All Learners

This K-12 professional development program includes a 6-day institute and three in-class, 2-hour, one-on-one coaching sessions for each participating teacher. The 6-day institute, which can be presented in different configurations during the school year, immerses teachers in research-based interactive learning experiences that promote:

  •  Culturally relevant pedagogy                        

  •  Engaging teaching practices

  •  State standards and frameworks

  •  Lesson plan development

  •  Collaborative conversation using structured protocols

  •  21st century learning skills and global competence

  •  Academic literacy and English language development

  •  Growth mindset

  •  Whole child approach

Goals

​

Participants​ ​in​ ​the​ ​program​ ​will

​

★ Develop, implement, evaluate, and share best practices that integrate strategies and resources to increase student motivation and engagement to close academic achievement gaps

​

★ Design lessons that integrate 21st century skills and promote global competence to:

​

â—‹ Investigate the world within and beyond their immediate environment

â—‹ Recognize perspectives of others and their own

â—‹ Communicate ideas effectively with diverse audiences

â—‹ Take action in their local and global community to solve problems and improve conditions

​

★ Participate in a professional learning community of reflective practitioners

​

Cost

​

The cost per teacher in groups of 15 or less is $1,500.

For groups (school site or cohort) of 16-24, the cost per teacher is $1,200.

 

★This includes institute participation, materials, morning refreshments and lunch, and 3 coaching sessions.
